Why won't my changes save?

Modified on Tue, 19 May at 11:41 AM

Save errors typically occur due to missing required fields, invalid data formatting, or permission restrictions. HearLink provides specific error messages to help identify the issue.

Common causes and solutions:

Missing required fields

  • Check for red highlights or error messages indicating empty required fields
  • Required fields are typically marked with an asterisk (*)
  • Fill in all required information before attempting to save

Invalid data formatting

  • Email addresses must follow standard format (name@domain.com)
  • Postcodes must be valid UK postcodes
  • Dates must be in the correct format (DD/MM/YYYY)

Permission restrictions

  • Your Group may not have permission to create or edit this type of record
  • Contact your organisation owner if you believe you should have access
  • Check that you're not trying to edit a locked or archived record

Network connectivity

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page if you suspect a connection issue
  • Check if other parts of the system are loading correctly

How to troubleshoot:

  1. Read the error message - HearLink displays specific messages explaining what needs to be corrected
  2. Check field highlighting - Fields with errors are typically highlighted in red
  3. Review required fields - Ensure all mandatory fields are completed
  4. Verify formatting - Double-check email addresses, phone numbers, and dates
  5. Check permissions - Confirm you have access to perform this action
  6. Try again - Correct the identified issues and attempt to save again

Tip: Always double-check required fields and field formatting (like phone numbers or email addresses). Most save errors are caught here.
